The LORD of Hosts is with Us!

God is our  refuge and strength,

  a very present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear though the eath gives

   way,

  though the mountains be moved into the heart of

   the sea

  though the mountains tremble at its swelling.                                                                                                      Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of

God,

 the holy habitation of the Most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;

 God will help her when morning dawns.

The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;

      he utters his voice, the earth melts.

The LORD of hosts is with us;

     the God of Jacob is our fortress.

COME, behold the works of the LORD,

      how he was brought desolations on the earth,
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
   he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
   he burns the chariots with fire.
“Be still, and know that I am God.
      I will be exalted among the nations,
      I will be exalted in the earth!”
The LORD of hosts is with us;
       the God of Jacob is our fortress.

The LORD Does Not Forget His Chidren

But You have rejected us and disgraced us

and have not gone out with our armies.

You have made us like sheep for slaughter

and have scattered us among the nations.

You have sold Your people for a trifle,

demanding no high price for them.

You have made us the taunt of our neighbors,

the derision and scorn of those around us.

You have made us a byword among the nations,

a laughingstock among the peoples.

All-day-long my disgrace is before me,

and shame has covered my face

at the sound of the taunter and reviler,

at the sight of the enemy and the avenger.

It certainly can feel as though the LORD has forgotten about us
in our distress and pain. Oh but trust Him, lean in to Him by
meditating on His Word. You will be reminded that He is/was there
all along.

All this has come upon us,

though we have not forgotten You,

and we have not been false to Your covenant.

Our heart has not turned back,

nor have our steps departed from Your way;

yet You have broken us in the place of jackals

and covered us with the shadow of death.

If we had forgotten the Name of our God

or spread out our hands to a foreign god,

would not God discover this?

For He knows the secrets of the heart.

Yet for Your sake we are killed all-day-long;

we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.

Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord?

     Rouse Yourself! Do not reject us forever!

Why do You hide Your face?

Why do You forget our affliction and oppression?

For our soul is bowed down to the dust;

our belly clings to the ground.

Rise up; come to our help!

      Redeem us for the sake of Your steadfast love!

The LORD Does IT!

O God, we have heard with our ears,

our fathers have told us,

what deeds You performed in their days,

in the days of old;

You with Your own hand drove out the nations,

but them You planted;

You afflicted the peoples,

but them You set free;

for not by their own sword did they win the land,

nor did their own arm save them,

but Your right hand and Your arm,

and the light of Your face,

for You delighted in them.

You are my King, O God;

ordain salvation for Jacob!

Through You we push down our foes;

through Your Name we tread down those who

rise up against us.

For not in my bow do I trust,

nor can my sword save me.

But You have saved us from our foes

and have put to shame those who hate us.

In God we have boasted continually,

  and we will give thanks to Your Name

       forever.

Do You Want To Be Healed?

Screenshot_20170310-091345After noticing that a person has been hurt, sick, weighed down, or [just] in a helpless condition for a long while, the believer ought to ask them, “Do you want to get well?” Don’t just keep scrolling by their social media posts, message them. Or better yet, stop by their home, call or text, invite them over. ** And if you are a believer, who happens to be in a seemingly helpless state, ask yourself that same question,  “Do I have a desire to be well?” If so, reach out to someone who lives like Jesus.**

“And a certain man was there, himself being thirty and eight years in infirmity. Jesus, having seen him lying and having known that he has been a long time already, says to him, “Do you desire to become well?”

The one ailing answered Him, “Sir, I do not have a man, that when the water has been stirred, he might put me into the pool; and while I am going, another descends before me.”

Jesus says to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”

And immediately the man became well, and he took up his mat and began to walk.” (John 5:5-9)

Can President Trump Be The Means to Which Christ is Drawing You Closer to Himself?

Perhaps, President Trump, #YOURPresident, whether you like it or not, may be the mean in which the LORD GOD chooses to draw YOU closer to Himself.

Perhaps.

Perhaps, maybe you didn’t know you were on your way to hell…as an almost Christian, professing Jesus with your mouth, but denouncing Him with your lie,  I mean life.

But please. If you are a Christian, consider your own ways. Are you a hypocrite because you can’t stand him because of the things he has said? Are you in sin, as you slander him? And does the fact of the possibility of you being in sin give you pause. If not. Then, I want you to #takeaseat and repent and ask God to forgive you and make you right before Him. -Don’t you know, Christian, that Jesus said we will be held accountable for every careless word we speak? (Matthew 12:36)  And if you DO know this, then here we are again, back to sin, because [James says] whoever knows the right thing to do and yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin. (James 4:16-17)    And we know that sin is a BIG DEAL because sin separates us from our beloved Savior Lord, who’s Presence we ought to continually be mindful of, right? (Colossians 3:1-2) I mean are you so willing to forsake His Presence to complain and spew out words you can never take back! Words that will condemn you? (Matthew 12:37)

Colossians 3:1-2 says, “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”(Typography added)

Christian. You and I are to make a conscious choice to direct our mind and our hearts towards the things of Christ our Lord. (Philippians 2:4-5) We venture towards having the mind of Christ through prayer, residing in the Word of God, the Bible and through faithful and loving accountable fellowship with other believers. Directing our minds towards the things of God is always best for us because God’s thoughts are so much higher and better than our thoughts. His thoughts are much more noble and upright than ours. Can you agree? Yes, His thoughts are righteous and so are [all] His ways. All of our thoughts and ways are damning and in need of redemption. The prophet Isaiah says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). Though some thoughts come quickly, whether naturally or from the enemy. It is still up to us to turn our minds and hearts to Christ and choose to make our residence there.

I know. I know. It ain’t easy. It’s so easy to join throng of naysayers versus countering them! Trust. I know! But, you know Christian; brother, sister. I know you can do it. I know you can love like you are Jesus’.  Listen. The only thing that keeps us from setting our mind on Christ, is our pride. Pride is murderous to anyone attempting to live out the mission of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20)  Pride takes us on a detour far off the path to God, and sets us on a path of it’s very own: destruction. Pride is where the wicked abound. (See Psalm 10)  Do not do what they do.

Again. I know you can DO IT. I know you can LOVE LIKE JESUS LOVES. The kind of love that is virtually selfless and hopes for the best in all things. The kind that keeps no roster with check marks against people. (Check out 1 Corinthians 13)  I know  you can love like this because of Him who lives on the inside of you! I tell you, He is greater than any masterful complaint or snide remark. He is just greater than______.  AND, check it, He has given us EVERYTHING we need to live a life of godliness. (2 Peter 2-3) This means He has given us, who are His, the supernatural ability to love our enemies, to pray for them and actually care about their eternal well being. This also means, we are able to endure the  afflictions of this world and that we don’t have to resort to complaining, shaming, and hateful speech or deeds. We are able to do these deeds  ALL with a thankful heart! Because. Because. Because! Because!!!!  Our GOD is Greater than the sum of them all! He is stronger! He is BETTER!  His way is BETTER. His promises are BETTER. (Hebrews 8:6)

So now, when you hear, see, or think of President Trump (or whomever else), you can praise the Lord for this ‘mean’ He has in place, to draw you closer to Himself.

It’s ALL about Him anyway. Praise be to Jesus!

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.  Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  {Philippians 2:1-11}

“Where are the young men and women of this generation who will hold their lives cheap (Rev 12v11), and be faithful even unto death?
Where are those who will lose their lives for Christ’s sake – flinging them away for love of Him?
Where are those who will live dangerously, and be reckless in His service (Acts15v26)?
Where are his lovers – those who love Him and the souls of men more than their own reputations or comfort, or very life?
Where are the men who say “no” to self, who take up Christ’s cross to bear it after Him who are willing to be nailed to it in college or office, home or mission field; who are willing, if need be, to bleed, to suffer, and to die on it?
Where are the men and women of vision today?
Where are the men of enduring vision?
Where are the men and women who have seen the King in His beauty, by whom from henceforth all else is counted but refuse that they may win Christ?
Where are the adventurers, the explorers, the buccaneers for God who count one human soul of far greater value than the rise or fall of an empire?
Where are the men who glory in God-sent loneliness, difficulties, persecutions, misunderstandings, discipline, sacrifice, death?
Where are the men and women who are willing to pay the price of vision?
Where are the men and women of prayer?
Where are the men and women who, like the Psalmist of old, count God’s Word of more importance to them than their daily food?
Where are the men and women who, like Moses of old, commune with God face to face as a man speaks with his friend, and unmistakably bear with them the fragrance of the meeting through the day?
Where are God’s men and women in this day of God’s power?”
