Sacrifice

“Where are the young men and women of this generation who will hold their lives cheap (Rev 12v11), and be faithful even unto death?
Where are those who will lose their lives for Christ’s sake – flinging them away for love of Him?
Where are those who will live dangerously, and be reckless in His service (Acts15v26)?
Where are his lovers – those who love Him and the souls of men more than their own reputations or comfort, or very life?
Where are the men who say “no” to self, who take up Christ’s cross to bear it after Him who are willing to be nailed to it in college or office, home or mission field; who are willing, if need be, to bleed, to suffer, and to die on it?
Where are the men and women of vision today?
Where are the men of enduring vision?
Where are the men and women who have seen the King in His beauty, by whom from henceforth all else is counted but refuse that they may win Christ?
Where are the adventurers, the explorers, the buccaneers for God who count one human soul of far greater value than the rise or fall of an empire?
Where are the men who glory in God-sent loneliness, difficulties, persecutions, misunderstandings, discipline, sacrifice, death?
Where are the men and women who are willing to pay the price of vision?
Where are the men and women of prayer?
Where are the men and women who, like the Psalmist of old, count God’s Word of more importance to them than their daily food?
Where are the men and women who, like Moses of old, commune with God face to face as a man speaks with his friend, and unmistakably bear with them the fragrance of the meeting through the day?
Where are God’s men and women in this day of God’s power?”

May Family Update- 2016

2016.

Two thousand sixteen.  Dos mil dieciseis.

No matter how you say it, the year of 2016 has made a name for itself. 2016 will go down in history as “one of those years”  The crazy part: it’s not even over yet!

If there was just ONE THING my family and I have learned and been reminded of, THIS year, is that JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday, TODAY, and forevermore! He HAS BEEN and IS our Constant Sustainer! Our ALL in ALL.

He is Sovereign & He Loves US & He’s coming back!

Joseph, 36

Joseph is also known as JOE, daddy, and Pastor and by a few good men, JOJO!

Joseph began the year as FSRP Worker, but now works at the local community college as an ESL teacher. He absolutely loves it! Not only has he found it to be a great place to work, but a very ripe harvest field.  Joseph is a part of one of the BEST College ministries we have ever seen. Praise the LORD for laborers!  Joseph also disciples and train a few young men, who in turn, disciple their various teammates.

Joseph finished his first semester of his Master’s Program at Barclay College. He is enjoying this learning experience, as well as, the comradery amongst other brothers and sisters of the Gospel of Christ.

Joseph continues to serve as Chair to the Local Ministers Association, as Chaplain to Spenser’s Underground Ministry(S. U. G. Ministry), regularly preaches at local retirement homes.

Joseph serves a Pastor at JOY! Fellowship Church. As of September 2016, JOY! Fellowship has entered its second year as a Church plant and continues to spread the Gospel over NW Iowa.

Joseph (& Tamika) serves as contact for IOWA in #NOPLACELEFT Network (#NPL). Here, Joseph and Tamika serve as accountable brothers and sisters to those in the state of Iowa, who are making disciples and training them to reach those in their homes, neighborhoods, cities! You should ask us about it!

Joseph enjoys being with his family. Joseph, particularly enjoys teaching and making a disciple of his son, Cur-man! His favorite pass time has not changed: eating whatever Tamika cooks, watching, seemingly, pointless cartoons, and of course, playing the XBOX with the CREW or AJ!

Favorite Scripture Passage of THIS year: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21the-fellas

Tamika, 40

Yes, 40!!!! 40thdaycake

Tamika was graciously given the opportunity to attend Desiring God Conference for her 40th birthday in Minneapolis, MN! She missed her husband, though!!!

Tamika continues to serve as wife and mother. She continues to homeschool and disciple the CREW!

Tamika  also disciples a group of young girls at a residential youth facility, disciple a group of ladies via a community Bible study, and  disciples a host of ladies, individually.

This past September, Tamika organized a simulcast for the Lakes area, for Revive Our Hearts, CRYOUT16!

Tamika loves to cooking and making room at her table for anyone who’d come.

Favorite time is  hanging with JOE, reading, watching NCIS, listening to her oldest talk about JEM & the Holograms or share her movies/podcast stories.

Favorite Scripture Passage: “O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12the-ladies

AMBER, 12, 6th Gradeamber

MY! What can I say about this precious gift in a girl!

She is the me I wanted to be at age 12! She is an introvert until it comes to the Gospel, JEM, Barbie and the Rockers, her Podcasts, her movies, and her music playlist from the 60’s and 70’s.

This girl loves her some Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Denise Williams, JEM & Holograms music. OH! I already said that- but that’s how much she enjoys them!

Amber’s art skills have become more creative and defined. She is constantly drawing and thinking of a new storyline for a podcast.

Her favorite subjects are: ART , Podcasting (really not a subject)

She has dreams of being an Podcast-ER (a career in podcasting)

Favorite Scripture Passage: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

BROOKIE-B!!!

All sweetness right here! Tenderhearted, lover of the Word! She is mature beyond her years but yet, every bit of 11!

She has a sense of humor like her daddy! Loves to listen to John Piper books and sermons. She is an avid reader! She loves to build and create. She has remodeled and rebuilt her bookshelf barbie house and furniture, several times, using what I would throw away. She loves to draw and make bracelets. She is loves to make podcasts, but finds her niche in the production and business creativity.

Brooklyn is still receiving lessons on the piano.

Brooklyn wants to be an architect!

Brooklyn’s favorite subjects in school>  Logic & Critical Thinking, READING. She really enjoyed the poetry unit this year. Here is her first poem:

Favorite Scripture Passage: “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!” Psalm 100:1-2

CURRAN, 55, I mean 9, 4th Grade

curran

THIS GUY!!!

He brings laughter and joy to this family! He is always thinking (fast) and talking! Almost never quiet. He could serve as the Extrovert Model! Seriously though!

He spends most of his time explaining things to us! He loves to read comic books or books that matter to him, et’ al, comic books!

This boy can exegete some Scripture!  You know, for a nine year old.

He loves playing with his LEGOS, superhero people and enacting movies! He occasionally serves his sister by participating in her podcasts (he is pretty funny, too!).

Curran became sick this year, and spent some days in the hospital. Although hard and scary, because of Christ, he was a champ! Since. He has endured having his tonsils removed and recovered well.

This year he participated in summer Art Class (along with his sisters). He loved it.

He also played on a football team for the first time. He enjoyed it and looks forward to next year. Football was challenging for him, but good.

Curran desires to be either a plumber, because he likes his chore cleaning the toilet in the bathroom OR a video game designer OR a trash man, so he can share the Gospel

His favorite subjects> Math and Reading

He looks forward to taking up Tae Kwon Do again, as a yellow belt green stripe! He joined in January and tested in May!

Favorite Scripture Passage:  “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,  for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.  And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4curran
